Calaveras County sponsors nine Used Oil Collection Centers that will accept your used oil at no cost. Most Centers also collect used oil filters, spent automobile batteries, and antifreeze. These County-sponsored Centers are located in Angels Camp, Arnold, Copperopolis, Milton, Mountain Ranch, Murphys, San Andreas, and Wilseyville. An additional Center is located in Angels Camp. You may bring up to fifty-five gallons of uncontaminated lubricating oil in containers holding no more than five gallons each. Please see attendant on site for disposal instructions. Remember to take your empty containers with you.

SEI Solid Waste, Inc., in Arnold, and Greenleaf Environmental, in Toyon, are state-certified Collection Centers and will offer to pay four cents per quart of oil deposited for recycling.
