In order to comply with State-mandated
diversion requirements, all yard waste must be segregated from other
refuse and diverted from the landfill. The Rock Creek Solid Waste
Facility accepts yard waste daily (except Easter, Thanksgiving Day,
Christmas Day and New Years Day) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Yard waste is also accepted at the Red Hill Yard Waste Facility
in Vallecito, and the Copperopolis and Wilseyville Transfer Stations.
Acceptable quantities and hours of operation vary for these. Click
here to find current operating schedules
and restrictions at each facility.
There is no charge for the first four
cubic yards and a charge of $4.00 per cubic yard for each additional
yard greater than four cubic yards. Only residents and property
owners from Calaveras and Alpine County are allowed to dispose of
yard waste at these locations and should be prepared to show some
form of I.D. No refuse, plastic bags, excessive dirt, rocks or stumps
will be accepted at Red Hill or the transfer stations. Rock Creek
will accept these items if segregated from yard waste.
