CalaverasRecycles.org is an on line resource created to serve the customers of Calaveras and Alpine Counties, which fall under the Calaveras County Solid Waste Division, a division of Department of Public Works.

Click this link to see what can go in your Mixed Recycling? Feel free to print this and post it near your household or work garbage cans and double check the items before you toss them in the garbage and make sure they are not recyclable in our County.  Then help pass on the information to your friends, co-workers and neighbors.

Calaveras County Department of Enviromental Health has approved a change to facilty operations at the Rock Creek Landfill to allow the use of wood ash as an alternative daily cover.  Click here to read the Public Notice

We have a mixed recyclable program, where you can recycle glass, jars, newspaper, aluminum, tin, plastics marked 1 through 7, paperboard, magazines, office and junk mail in the same container.  So, whether you have curbside service or you self haul, you don't have to separate the items.

We can now put all plastics marked 1 through 7 in our mixed recyclables.  This is big news, as it includes styrofoam products, which are normally marked with a number 6.   As well as lots of other plastics, like yogurt cups, margarine and cottage cheese containers.

Check the recycling code on the container and if it is a 1 through 7, put it in your mixed recycling.  Click the recycling code link for further information.

Talk to your friends, co-workers and neighbors, please share this website and recycling information to help get the word out. Thank you.
