| Calaveras
County operates seven transfer stations where Calaveras County property
owners can discard their household trash at no cost. Each customer
is limited to no more than 2 cubic yards of trash per load (about
the amount that will fit in a full-size pickup truck).
Remember to show your ID. Click
here
for acceptable forms of ID. Because we do not charge for disposal,
residents of neighboring counties frequently try to dispose of their
trash at our Transfer Stations. Checking IDs is the most effective
way to prevent this illegal disposal and to preserve your tax dollars.
At all Calaveras County Transfer Stations,
you can drop off aluminum, glass, magazines, newspaper, #1 and #2
plastics, household batteries and tin cans in separate bins for
recycling. Yard waste, tires
and appliances with freon must be
segregated for recycling and are not allowed to be dumped with household
trash. Click on those waste types for further information about
disposal options.
